Communicate Website Design was set up due to demand for low-cost websites, mainly for the Third Sector. It is based in Sunderland in the North East of England.

Communicate Website Design is founded on solid experience...

"I set up my first website in 1994 - back in the dim past when HTML was brand new. I was working as a Research Associate at Newcastle University Medical School at the time. It was generating a lot of interest in academic fields and was seen as a great future teaching tool. But no-one but no-one thought that anyone outside of the Military and Academia would have any use for the Internet. How wrong we all were! Having said that - no-one outside of these groups actually had access to the Internet anyway so we were right up to a point.

"Needless to say, many people saw other uses for the Internet and it was so in demand that millions of people across the world happily paid quite large sums of money for Modems and Internet Access through Internet Service providers. An exponential growth ensued that has pretty much meant that the Internet and e-mail are part of the everyday work and home lives of most people in the developed world.

"I have seen websites that I have created coming and going over the years - frequently swallowed up by 'corporate image' sites as web design as taken over centrally within organisations. That has led me to realise how much your identity can be determined by a website and how transitory it all can be if its not looked after. Many trends have come and gone over those years - this web site is simply using the current trendy look in fact, or one of them anyway - so it is always important to keep the website looking current with up to date content. If you don't do that then the surfer will simply go on to another of the 8 billion websites on our planet.

"Would I get rid of the Internet - never! It has changed my life irrevocably and if it disappeared I am sure I would wander the streets a broken individual mourning the loss of something that had been so important in my life. But it is here to stay, I am pleased to say, the recent Credit Crunch has not caused the decline of the High Street, it has simply accelerated what was already happening. Most people book their holidays on-line, most people search recruitment vacancies on-line, most people buy their books/DVDs/CDs/music/movies on-line and this trend is continuing. Buying groceries on-line isn't all that popular yet - but who knows, that could change as well. Whatever way they are doing it they are now more likely to be impressed by a fantastic looking, informative website than they are by a shop or office sign.

"And thats where I see Communicate Website Design coming in..."
